TK INDEX digitizes Rwamagana District

DSC06818TK Index has completed digitizing at least 1, 141, 000 documents and records of Rwamagana District, Eastern Province of Rwanda. The process that took about 6 months began in December 2012 and was completed in the Fall of July 2013. All current and ‘continuing value’ records were digitized and made available through Alfresco Electronic Records Management System. The community edition of the system deployed at Rwamagana will ensure that all the administrative staff can access, store, share and manage their critical records at the click of a mouse.

Alfresco includes a content repository, an out-of-the-box web portalframework for managing and using standard portal content, a CIFS interface that provides file system compatibility on Microsoft Windows and Unix-like operating systems, a web content management systemcapable of virtualizing webapps and static sites via Apache Tomcat,Lucene indexing, and Activiti workflow. The Alfresco system is developed using Java technology.

TK INDEX also developed a physical filing system for Rwamagana District that will help in management of the physical records as well.
